Présentation de l’évènement

Du 2 février au 18 juillet 2025, le Musée du Terroir vous invite à découvrir le métier de tourneur sur bois !

Dans cette nouvelle exposition temporaire, le Musée du Terroir explore l’artisanat du bois tourné à travers le temps.

A partir d’objets issus de ses réserves, le musée met en valeur le travail de cet artisan méconnu qu’est le tourneur sur bois dont on connait pourtant bien les réalisations : pieds de tables, de chaises, porte-manteaux, …

L’exposition s’intéresse aussi aux créations plus actuelles et artistiques du tourneur sur bois de Sainghin en Weppes Stéphane Dhennin.

Compris dans le billet d’entrée du musée. Gratuit le 1er dimanche du mois.

A propos du lieu

Musée du Terroir

Le musée du Terroir retrace la vie rurale et domestique des habitants du Nord de la France au début du XXe siècle. Dans le cadre typique d’une ancienne ferme à cour carrée, le musée du Terroir vous permet de plonger dans la vie quotidienne au XXe siècle et aussi de découvrir les outils et pratiques des artisans d’autrefois comme le forgeron ou le bourrelier. Riche de plus de 5000 objets, le musée est le lieu idéal pour une transmission entre les générations.
